Thunderstorm Robotics

“Competition for the sake not of destroying one another, but for the sake of bettering and improving both competitors as a result of the competition.” ~ Woodie Flowers

Thunderstorm is more than just robotics. We strive to better our students through many skills including teamwork, leadership, public speaking, outreach and gracious professionalism, alongside programing, design and machinery.

Students will create the robots themselves, discussing and planning the best possible ways to reach each competition’s requirements through trial and error until they reach the ideal conclusion for the team.

Through regular meetings, students come together to build, recruit members and become closer as a team and some graduated students even return as mentors to teach the next generation of young designers, engineers, programmers and innovators.

Thunderstorm has something for everyone. Many members join with little to no mechanical experience and, through training and mentoring, learn skills that will help them throughout their lives.
